I have experience of leading a number of inter-organisation partnerships, giving
constitutional advise, organising elections and being a secretary to an active charitable trust.  
With town and parish councils I have experience of being a clerk to all sizes, large and small,
and have even set one up from scratch. My practical experience helps me appreciate the
special qualities these very local councils require of their staff.  

I have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the leadership and management
issues local authorities, especially town & parish councils, need to face today to be in good
shape for tomorrow’s challenges.  I have an extensive track record of successful change
management, at the political/strategic and operational level and led on innovative activities
similar to local strategic and community safety partnerships well in advance of statutory
requirements.  

Furthermore, my understanding of how councils work at a practical level helps me to seek
new, better, more effective and efficient ways.  Inevitably, my work in a relatively small,
multi-functional organisation means I have had to turn my hand to many things - helping on
the front line and beyond.  I therefore have a thorough and broad grounding in the working
of local government at strategic and operational levels.

My skills complement my experience of representing  organisations at many levels -
community, public, professional, partnership, media, ministerial, local, regional, and
national - with many positive outcomes.
